1. Agreement to these terms
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the Lunch Box website and related services. By using the site or arranging an order directly with Lunch Box, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the site.
2. Current website functionality
The current site is informational. It lets you browse menu and catering content, build a temporary cart, view a published truck location, and view an order-status board. Online checkout and online payment are disabled. Adding items to a cart or typing into checkout fields does not place an order, reserve food, create a charge, or send those checkout details to Lunch Box.
3. Menu, availability, and pricing
Menu descriptions, ingredients, images, prices, catering details, truck locations, hours, and availability may change. Images are illustrative. The site may contain setup or fallback menu content when live data is unavailable. Confirm current items, prices, quantities, pickup details, and the final total with Lunch Box before relying on them or completing a purchase directly.
4. Allergies and special requests
Tell us about allergies before ordering and speak directly with staff. The disabled online notes field is not submitted. Our food preparation may involve common allergens and cross-contact may occur. Ingredient descriptions are summaries, not complete allergen guarantees. If you have a severe allergy, call before purchasing so staff can discuss what can be accommodated.
5. Orders and acceptance
Because the website does not currently accept orders, an order is created only when Lunch Box directly confirms it by phone or in person. We may accept, reject, limit, change with your approval, or cancel a requested order because of availability, pricing errors, safety, legal requirements, or operational constraints. You are responsible for providing accurate contact and pickup information. Preparation and pickup times are estimates.
6. Payment
The website does not currently accept payment or collect card details. Payment for an order accepted directly is handled using the method offered by Lunch Box at that time. Contact us promptly at (860) 502-2183 if you believe a direct charge is incorrect or duplicated.
7. Pickup and order status
Arrive within the pickup window confirmed by Lunch Box and provide the order name or number. When staff use the order system, the public status board may display a first name, order number, item summary, and preparation status for active orders. It does not guarantee timing and should not be used for urgent communication.
8. Cancellations and refunds
Cancellations, corrections, and refunds for purchases accepted by Lunch Box are governed by our Refund Policy. Catering arrangements may also have specific written terms confirmed before payment; those specific terms control if they conflict with the general Refund Policy.
9. Acceptable use
You may not misuse the website, attempt unauthorized admin access, interfere with service, bypass security, submit fraudulent orders, scrape content at unreasonable volume, introduce malicious code, impersonate another person, or use the site in violation of law.
10. Intellectual property
The website design, text, branding, logos, photographs, and other content are owned by or licensed to Lunch Box and are protected by applicable law. You may use the site for personal, noncommercial purposes. No other license is granted.
11. Third-party services
The website relies on GitHub Pages, Convex, and Google Fonts, and may link to Google Maps, DoorDash, Uber Eats, or other independent services. Their terms and privacy practices may apply. A delivery order placed on a partner site is handled by that partner and does not receive the temporary pickup cart built on this website.
12. Disclaimers
To the extent permitted by law, the website is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not promise uninterrupted operation, error-free content, or that every item will remain available. Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or rights that cannot legally be excluded.
13. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Lunch Box is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages caused solely by use of, or inability to use, this informational website. Nothing here limits responsibility or a consumer remedy that cannot lawfully be limited, including rights concerning an actual food purchase.
14. Governing law and disputes
Connecticut law governs these Terms, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Subject to applicable law, disputes will be brought in courts serving the jurisdiction where Lunch Box operates. Before filing a claim, please contact us and allow a reasonable opportunity to resolve the issue informally.
15. Changes and severability
We may update these Terms by posting a revised version and date. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver.
