One day, Garet looked at a truck and made himself a promise: “THIS will be mine.”
Through long days, late nights, and countless hours of hard work, he transformed that truck from the ground up into a kitchen on wheels.
That’s how LUNCHBOX was born.
Born in Portmore. Inspired by Mom.
Growing up in Portmore, Saint Catherine, Jamaica, Garet worked alongside his mother and uncles as they prepared home-cooked meals to sell. His mother taught him how to cook with instinct, generosity, and the unmistakable warmth of home.
His father—a singer and fisherman—filled his childhood with music. But the flavors, recipes, and love of cooking came from his mother.
With LUNCHBOX, Garet became the first in his family to give their food heritage a name of its own. Every box is generously packed with honest Jamaican food and the familiar flavors that shaped him.
Wherever Garet goes, the grill goes too.
That unmistakable smoky flavor comes from cooking over the grill, just as Garet did back home. No shortcuts. No unnecessary complications. Just authentic Jamaican food prepared with care and served straight from the heart.
